Risk Symposium 2007
Risk Analysis for Homeland Security and Defense
Theory and Application
March 26-28 2007, La Fonda on the Plaza, Santa Fe, New Mexico
|
The Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Decision Application Division will be organizing LANL’s second annual Symposium on Risk Analysis for Homeland Security and Defense: Theory and Application.
"DHS must base its work on priorities that are driven by risk"
Secretary Chertoff, July 13, 2005
|
Risk-based decision making is fast becoming a de facto standard for many homeland security decisions. The process of determining risks, however, is challenged by the complexity of the system and the uncertainties in determining the threats, vulnerabilities and consequences.
To address this challenge we intend to bring together a wide audience of theoreticians, modelers, data analysts, domain experts, and decision makers to share their knowledge and ideas on contemporary and novel aspects of risk based decision making. |
